Vannin Group's Healthcare Division is building the operating system for modern healthcare. Our flagship product, Greencube, is an electronic health record with over fifteen million patient records across 300+ clinical sites.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead technical direction on high-impact ML initiatives across Greencube, including clinical decision support, deterioration prediction, and AI-assisted documentation. You will set technical standards, mentor other engineers, and deliver production ML at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of flagship ML initiatives from research through to production.
- Set technical standards for ML engineering at Vannin Group: model architecture, MLOps, evaluation, and deployment.
- Mentor and grow a team of ML engineers and data scientists.
- Partner with clinical and product leadership to scope and prioritise the highest-value AI opportunities.
- Champion clinical safety, explainability, and regulatory readiness across all ML work.
- Contribute to Greencube's long-term AI strategy and technical roadmap.
- Represent Vannin Group's ML work in customer conversations, conferences, and research publications.
Essential Requirements
- 8+ years of ML engineering experience with deep production deployment expertise.
- Strong Python and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX).
- Expert-level MLOps: MLflow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI, SageMaker, or equivalent.
- Proven track record leading ML projects from zero to production.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers or tech-leading ML teams.
- Strong architectural instinct and communication skills.
Desirable
- Healthcare ML experience (EHR, FHIR, clinical NLP, medical imaging).
- Expertise with LLMs, foundation models, or RAG systems in a regulated setting.
- Experience with clinical safety standards and medical-device regulation.
- Publications in top ML / clinical informatics venues.
