The Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to lead our compliance, regulatory, and risk management function as Vannin Healthcare continues its international expansion. Reporting to the CEO, you will own the full compliance framework across all business lines — software (Greencube EHR), medical devices (mobile clinics and imaging), and healthcare delivery services — ensuring that Vannin operates to the highest regulatory, ethical, and clinical standards worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Vannin's group-wide compliance framework covering healthcare, data protection, medical devices, anti-bribery, and sanctions compliance.
• Lead regulatory strategy across key markets including the UK (MHRA, CQC, NHS DSP Toolkit), EU (MDR, GDPR), and export markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
• Own data protection compliance across all jurisdictions including UK GDPR, EU GDPR, HIPAA, and local equivalents. Act as or oversee the Data Protection Officer function.
• Establish and lead the Compliance Committee and maintain board-level reporting on compliance risk and status.
• Oversee HIMSS Stage 7 certification maintenance and related clinical quality accreditations.
• Lead anti-bribery, sanctions, and export-controls compliance, including due-diligence processes for new country markets and government clients.
• Manage internal audits, third-party audits, and customer compliance reviews.
• Advise on ethics, whistleblowing, and conflict-of-interest policies and procedures.
• Lead the training programme to build a strong compliance culture across all Vannin entities.

Essential Requirements

• 10+ years of compliance experience in healthcare, medical devices, or health-tech, including leadership of a group compliance function.
• Deep knowledge of UK and EU healthcare regulations (MHRA, MDR, CQC), data protection law (UK GDPR, HIPAA), and anti-bribery frameworks.
• Proven track record operating in emerging-market environments including Middle East, Africa, or Latin America.
• Experience with ISO 27001, ISO 13485, and HIMSS standards.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to advise board and C-suite and to challenge when required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Desirable

• Legal qualification (e.g. solicitor / barrister / in-house counsel experience).
• Certified Compliance Professional (SCCE, ICA, or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Arabic.
• Experience with Export Credit Agency-financed healthcare projects.
